Commonwealth Home Support Program

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) provides basic assistance for those with minor needs. The initiative aims to assist those aged 65 or older, or 50 or older if they identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, to remain healthy and live independently in their own home for longer. It can also help you transition from receiving full-time care in a hospital or nursing home to returning home with the great support you need.

Home Care Packages

There are four levels of HCPs, with packages ranging from $9,000 to $52,300 per year. The level of package you’re eligible for will be determined through an assessment.

The Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) Program is for people who want to stay autonomous and have the best quality of life. A registered nurse from Basic Home Care will help you with the STRC Program. They will focus on nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and home care services.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new system that will support Australians with disabilities, their families, and caregivers. All citizens under the age of 65 who have a disability that impacts their life on a regular basis will be able to access the services they need through the NDIS.

Veterans’ Home Care

Veterans’ Home Care is a government-funded program that provides support to veterans who are not able to live safely by themselves.
