Who are NDIS Services for?

NDIS services are for people with a disability who meet the NDIS eligibility checklist. This includes people with physical, intellectual, cognitive, sensory, neurological, or psychological disabilities.

There are four requirements you need to meet to be eligible for NDIS services:

Age requirements

If your age is between 7 and 65, a local area coordinator can assist you in understanding the NDIS, submitting an application, and connecting with other government and community resources.

An early childhood partner can help families determine if the NDIS is a good match for their kid if they have one under the age of 7 and give assistance to the family in advance of the application process.

Residence requirements

The NDIS is offered exclusively to:

  • Australian citizens living within the country

  • Holders of Protected Special Category Visa

  • Permanent Visa holders

Disability requirements

This includes people born with physical, intellectual, cognitive, sensory, neurological, or psychological disabilities. Also, people with a disability that is likely to be permanent and significantly affect their ability to take part in everyday activities.

Early intervention NDIS requirements

You may qualify if you are in need of:

  • Some assistance now to decrease your future support needs

NDIS Funding

The NDIS funds support and services for people with disabilities. The amount of funding you get depends on your needs and goals.

Your NDIS plan will have three types of funding:

Core Funding

This pays for essential supports that help you with everyday life, such as personal care, community access, and transport.

Capacity Building

This pays for support that helps you develop skills and independence. This can include things like speech therapy, occupational therapy, and support to find a job.

Capital Support

This pays for expensive assistive technology, mobility equipment, and house or vehicle modifications, as well as financing for one-time expenditures (including Specialist Disability Accommodation).

It is essential to note that Capital Support’s budget funds may only be utilised for their intended purpose and cannot be used to cover any other expenses.

You can use your NDIS funding to pay for the services of Basic Home Care. We are an approved NDIS service provider, which means we can provide services and support that you need to live your best life.

You can also choose to self-manage your NDIS funds, which means you have more control over the support and services you receive.

If you would like to discuss your support needs with us, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government initiative that provides support and funding for people with disabilities. The NDIS funds services and supports that help people with disabilities to live their best life. The amount of funding you get depends on your needs and goals.

How does the NDIS work?

If you are qualified for the NDIS and have received a letter stating your “access decision,” the next step is to create your NDIS plan.

Creating your plan

Your plan is a formal service agreement negotiated with you. Everyone has a distinct plan. A representative from National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will inquire about your progress in many aspects of your life, your desired goals, and the type of assistance and support you require. This will help design a strategy that gives you the appropriate support.

Using your plan

Once you have a strategy, there are individuals who will assist you in implementing it.

Reviewing your plan and goals

Your plan review is a chance to confirm that your supports are effective and assisting you in achieving your goals.

How can the NDIS help?

The NDIS can help people with a disability to achieve their goals and live an independent life. It does this by providing funding for the support they need, including personal care, equipment, and therapies. The NDIS also provides funding for carers and families, so they can continue to support their loved ones.

The scheme is designed to be flexible, so it can be tailored to each individual’s needs. This means that people with a disability can get the support they need to live the life they want. If you or someone you know has a disability, the NDIS could make a real difference.

How to apply for funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme?

There are three steps to applying for funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS):

  1. Call 1800 800 110 and speak with one of the representatives to apply for the NDIS.

  2. Fill up the Access Request Form
