Commonwealth Home Support Program

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) offers basic support if you have low-level needs. The program is designed to help people aged 65 and over, or 50 and over if they identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, to stay healthy and independent at home for longer. It can also help you transition from full-time care in a hospital or nursing home back to your own home.

Home Care Packages

If you’re looking for long-term, comprehensive support at your own home, a Home Care Package (HCP) may be right for you. HCPs are designed to meet the needs of older Australians who need help with day-to-day activities.

There are four levels of HCPs, with packages ranging from $9,000 to $52,300 per year. The level of package you’re eligible for will be determined through an assessment.

Short-Term Restorative Care

Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) is a program aimed to assist individuals in maintaining their autonomy and quality of life. A registered nurse from Basic Home Care will supervise your STRC Program and focus on nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and home care services.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a revolutionary support system for Australians with impairments, their families, and caregivers. All citizens under the age of 65 with an ongoing and significant disability will be able to access the services they need to live a normal life through the NDIS.

Veterans’ Home Care

Veterans’ Home Care is a government-funded program that provides support to veterans who are unable to live independently. The program offers a range of services, including aged care, nursing care, respite care, and home modifications.

Veterans’ Home Care is available to all veterans who meet the eligibility criteria, including those who have served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), their partners, and war widows or widowers.
