Ways to Fund Disability Care

National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government funding program for Australians who have a disability. It provides financial support and access to services that help people diagnosed with disability live independently and participate in the community.

This government-led program has provided persons with disabilities with the support they need to fully enjoy their lives.

Disability Support Pension

If you are 16 or older and have a handicap that limits your ability to work, you may be eligible for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

This also includes anyone who is permanently blind or who suffers from a physical, intellectual, or mental handicap that will prohibit them from working 15 or more hours per week for at least the next two years is eligible.

DSPs can assist you to pay for things like housing, food, and transportation, among other things. And in order to qualify for the DSP, you must be disabled and unable to start a training program that will get you ready for employment within the following two years.

Private Funding

Private funding can be an excellent alternative for those who do not qualify for government benefits or who want additional assistance paying for service.

Individuals’ ability to choose their own care providers is one of the greatest advantages of private finance. This allows individuals to choose caregivers they know and trust, which may result in higher-quality care.

Private money can also be utilised to pay expenditures not covered by government benefits, such as private treatments or house modifications. In certain instances, private funds can be leveraged to cover the cost of long-term care in a nursing home or other institution.
